Acrylic Fill
An acrylic fill is the routine maintenance appointment for an existing acrylic set. As the nail grows, a gap opens between the cuticle area and the sculpted product, and the balance of the nail shifts forward. At a fill the technician files the old surface back, blends the regrowth, adds fresh acrylic and rebuilds the shape, so the set reads as freshly done rather than grown out.

Overview
Most people book a fill every two to three weeks, though the right interval depends on how fast your nails grow and how hard you are on them. A fill is quicker and usually cheaper than a full set — commonly an hour to ninety minutes — and it keeps the existing structure in service instead of removing and rebuilding it. If several nails have broken or the shape has drifted, the technician may suggest a rebalance or a full set instead.
How it works
Old colour is removed and any lifted product is filed away until the remaining acrylic is well attached and thinned toward the cuticle. The new growth is prepped with dehydrator and primer, then fresh beads are placed to fill the gap and rebuild the apex so the stress point sits where it should. The set is filed back into shape, the surface is refined, and colour or top coat is reapplied. Broken corners and cracks are repaired in the same visit.
