The name is a pricing tier rather than a defined technique, so what it contains varies by salon and product line.

Overview
Expect roughly 45 to 60 minutes and a menu description built around whatever the salon treats as its premium add-ons: a scrub, a hydrating mask, warm mitts, a cuticle oil step, an extended arm massage, or a longer-wearing top coat. Because there is no industry definition, two salons using the same word can be offering noticeably different appointments at similar prices.
The practical way to read it is as a bundle. Compare the deluxe listing line by line against the classic and spa options at the same salon and you will usually see exactly which two or three steps you are paying extra for. If the difference is only a product upgrade you do not particularly care about, the cheaper tier may serve you just as well.
How it works
The nail portion is unchanged: shaping, cuticle tidy, buffing and polish, none of which goes below the surface. The upgrades work the way they do in a spa manicure — exfoliation smooths the look of the skin, warmth and occlusive masks leave it feeling softer for a few days, and a longer massage is simply more time spent on the hands and forearms. Longer-wear top coats improve chip resistance modestly; regular polish is still regular polish.
