PMU Color Correction
PMU color correction is a corrective tattooing service for permanent makeup that has healed or aged into an unwanted color — brows that have turned orange, red, grey or blue, or liner and lip work that no longer reads the way it did. The aim is to neutralise the existing tone and bring it back toward something wearable. It is corrective work on old pigment, which makes it a different skill from a fresh brow.

Overview
Old permanent makeup rarely fades evenly. As the warmer components of a pigment break down at a different rate from the cooler ones, brows can settle warm and orange or cool and grey-blue, and older work sits at a different depth than modern shading, which changes how it looks through the skin. Color correction works by introducing a complementary tone that cancels the unwanted cast, then rebuilding a shade on top of the neutralised base.
The honest constraint is that correction adds pigment to skin that already holds pigment. Where the old work is dense, dark or deeply placed, layering more on top can make the area heavier and muddier rather than better, and a competent artist will say so. In those cases the usual advice is to lighten or remove first and correct afterwards, even though that means more appointments and a longer timeline.
How it works
The artist first reads the existing color in daylight, judging its cast, density and depth, and then chooses a corrective tone: an orange cast is countered with cool tones, a blue-grey cast with warm ones. Correction is deliberately conservative — a light pass, then weeks of waiting to see how the healed color has actually shifted, then another pass if needed. Most corrections take at least two appointments, and some need a lightening session in between.
