Shape Correction
Shape correction is a corrective tattooing service for permanent makeup whose shape no longer works — brows that sit too high, too low, too thick, asymmetric, or drawn in a style that has dated. The artist reworks the outline within what the existing pigment allows. The governing rule is simple and worth knowing before you book: pigment can be added, but it cannot be taken away with more pigment.

Overview
Where the wanted shape is larger than the existing one, correction is straightforward: the artist extends and reshapes with new pigment and blends the join. Where the wanted shape is smaller — a thinner tail, a lower arch, a narrower front — the old pigment is still there and there is nothing to draw over it with that will genuinely hide it. Painting skin-tone pigment over unwanted areas is generally discouraged, because that pigment does not behave like skin and often heals to a visible grey or pink patch.
That is why shape correction and removal are so often discussed together. When a shape needs to come down in size, most experienced artists will suggest lightening the old work first with saline or laser, waiting for it to heal, and then drawing the new shape into a cleaner canvas. It takes longer and costs more than a single appointment, and it is usually the route that ages best.
How it works
The appointment starts with mapping: the artist measures and pencils the proposed shape over the existing work, and you look at it in a mirror in natural light and, importantly, from the front rather than at an angle. Once agreed, pigment is applied only where the shape is being extended or softened, with the join between old and new blended so there is no ledge. If the existing shape cannot be worked with, a good artist will stop and discuss lightening rather than proceed anyway.
