Sofwave is most often discussed for early signs of laxity on the face and neck—a softening jawline, mild fullness or looseness under the chin, heaviness around the brow, and fine lines around the eyes and mouth. Whether a specific area is appropriate, and how many sessions might be involved, should be confirmed in a consultation rather than assumed from marketing descriptions.

The treatment works on the skin itself, encouraging the dermis to rebuild collagen and elastin over time. That scope has limits: it may firm and refine mildly lax skin, but it does not lift heavy tissue descent the way surgery can, does not remove fat, and does not replace injectables for volume loss. Expectations should be calibrated to a subtle, gradual change.

The device delivers multiple parallel beams of ultrasound at the same time, heating a controlled zone in the mid-to-upper dermis while a cooling surface protects the outer skin. This is a shallower working depth than focused-ultrasound lifting devices such as Ultherapy, which target deeper planes—so the two are related but distinct options. At the appointment, the skin is cleansed, a numbing cream is commonly applied, and the handpiece is moved across the area in passes; each pulse can feel like brief heat or prickling.
